Community Band Concert, Summer Reading Program Launch in Swansea

The Swansea Community Band brings its Summer Concert Series to town Friday, July 10, while the library's Summer Reading Program is now underway, giving residents two anchors for the season's community calendar.

The Swansea Free Public Library's Summer Concert Series continues this week with a performance by the Swansea Community Band on Friday, July 10. The concert is part of the library's ongoing warm-weather programming at 69 Main Street.

The library's Summer Reading Program began Monday, July 6, and remains open for sign-ups. The library, open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., continues to offer cardholders access to digital services including Libby, Hoopla, Digital Commonwealth and Comics Plus alongside its in-person events.

SCHOOLS

Swansea Public Schools continues to promote its district Strategic Plan, described by Superintendent Scott C. Holcomb as "a promise to our students and families" and a roadmap for educators across the district's six schools. The plan outlines goals around student belonging and engagement as the district heads toward the new school year under Holcomb and Assistant Superintendent Elizabeth White.
